It was great to see Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant back in action on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals and he did not disappoint in his 2015 debut. Bryant caught six passes in the game for 137 total yards and two touchdowns. His final score of the game is officially in the books as 88 yards, but the reality of the matter is that while he covered 78 yards on the football field after the catch, he actually ran a lot farther than that..............

Coincidentally, 131.26 was the decibel level inside of my house during that TD.

The Pittsburgh Steelers ended up going to third-string quarterback Landry Jones after Michael Vick injured his hamstring, but Jones helped make WR Martavis Bryant’s day.

Bryant had six catches for 137 yards, including an 88-yard touchdown in the Steelers’ 25-13 win against the Arizona Cardinals. It was the second touchdown of 88 yards or longer for Bryant in his first two seasons, the second player in NFL history to do that, joining Gus Tinsley (Chicago Cardinals, 1937-38).

They need to get this guy locked up in a lifetime contract before it is too late.

There were no decibels at the bar I was at. The building's roof was torn off during that TD... :chuckle:

Somehow, this is going to become a fantasy football stat.

Even more curious: On a typical kickoff return, Archer runs 32 yards and gains us 1 yard.

That's impossible. Archer doesn't run side to side...

Nah, I'm just talking about the 8 yards deep he starts in the end zone, "gaining" 30 yards and getting us a yard or two past the 20, and then the statmongers say "Wow! 30 yards! That was a solid return!"

Had to allow a couple extra yards for him trying to dodge a guy and failing and then getting tackled sideways.

I thought Bryant's run was quite extraordinary. Right off the bat he had opponents around him. But they couldn't close down his time and space. Now all these athletes out there are fast and skilfull and I'm not sure what Bryant's .40 time was but what he did on that field at that moment was incredible. He literally just ran past all around him. Very excited about the upside on this player.
