Steelers place Kelvin Beachum on Reserve/Injured List

Teams signs offensive tackle Byron Stingily to the Active Roster.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. ─ The Steelers placed offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum on the Reserve/Injured List and signed offensive tackle Byron Stingily, the team announced today.

Beachum played in each of the team’s first six games in 2015, before suffering a leg injury in Sunday’s game vs. Arizona.

Stingily started 9-of-20 games played with the Tennessee Titans from 2012-14, before being released on September 5, 2015. The 6-5, 318-pound Louisville product entered the NFL as a sixth-round (175th overall) draft selection of the Titans in 2011 out of Louisville. He will wear No. 79.

Munchak drafted him

Titans coach Mike Munchak said Stingily has done well and is in competition to be the team’s “swing tackle” on game days

• In 2014, Stingily set career highs with 10 games played and five starts. He started four times at right tackle and once as an extra tight end.
• In 2013, he played in five games and for the second consecutive year started at right tackle in the final two games.
• In 2012, he played in five games and notched his first two career starts at right tackle in the final two games.
• As a senior at Louisville in 2010, Stingily earned second team All-Big East honors after starting all 13 games at left tackle. He helped pave the way for the Cardinals to lead the conference in rushing and teammate Bilal Powell to finish 11th in the country in rushing.

Well, at least he know Munchacks system and the scheme, and Munchack knows how he plays. Any word on Tuitt?

Sunday's big win did not come without sacrifice for the Black and Gold.

Along with losing Kelvin Beachum for the year with a torn ACL in the second quarter (Beachum was placed on IR on Monday), the Steelers also suffered injuries to Michael Vick and Stephon Tuitt in Pittsburgh's 25-13 win over Arizona.

Vick suffered a hamstring injury, while Tuitt sustained a right knee injury. On Monday, Tuitt said that the injury is "week to week", and that he expects to be back on the field Sunday when Pittsburgh hosts Kansas City. In his second year with the Steelers, Tuitt is enjoying a breakout season, with 27 tackles and 3.5 sacks after six games. He had a career high 10 tackles and one sack in Pittsburgh's 24-20 win over San Diego last week on Monday Night Football.

Against the Chargers, starting strong safety Will Allen left the game with an ankle injury in the first quarter and was inactive on Sunday. On Monday, Allen said that he will continue to get treatment for his sprained ankle and isn't sure if he'll practice with the team this week.

Allen, who was among the team leaders in tackles before his injury, was replaced in the lineup on Sunday by Robert Golden. Pittsburgh's special teams captain, Golden held his own on Sunday, as he was second on the team with eight tackles while being apart of a secondary that allowed just one touchdown in the Cardinals' four red zone trips in Sunday's win.
