WTF, isnt he a backup safety, something we have less of than healthy DL? Not to mention he actually produces on ST's . . . I don't understand, Archer literally does NOTHING . . .

Ventrone injured his hamstring in last night's game, probably was going to be out awhile anyway...

Injured, he is still more productive than Archer . . .

They will never get rid of Archer.

Would not be surprised if Ventrone is brought back to his special teams role once his injury heals.

Since we're down two safeties right now, wouldn't you think the smart move was to cut Archer and pick up another safety?

We're awfully thin at safety, but isn't Ventrone pretty much a pure ST ace anyway? Not sure how much he offers as a backup safety. I wonder if Will Allen is out for any period of time if they bring in a vet or sign Dangerfield off the practice squad?

Terrible move IMO. No reason Archer should be on this team. Plenty of reasons Ventrone should be here. Safety depth and he contributes more to special teams than Atcher does. Front office still trying to justify their over valuation and bungled draft of Archer...

now that we're down to three healthy safeties in Mitchell, Shark and Golden we may very well call up Jordan Dangerfield from our practice squad which means someone else would need to be released..

They will never get rid of Archer.

Yes, the will. Not this year, but next year for sure, if he shows nothing like he has so far. Even Pgh, at some point, stops serving their egos and gets rid of dead wood.

I mean, Troy Edwards was sent packing, eventually. And he was a 1st-round pick.

Why wasn't Bryant activated for last night? What was wrong with him?

Reports were that he tweaked his knee in practice last Monday.

Still a lot of dead wood on this roster. Oh well.

Well, they need to get another safety in there quick, Dangerfield if fine by me.

They must be trying to generate some kind of value for Archer as trade bait or something. Ventrone produces on STs. I hear his name on tv making tackles.

Ventrone injured his hamstring in last night's game and probably would have missed the next couple of games anyway, that's why he was released...

well, he's on the 53-man roster.

doesn't necessarily mean that he'll play this Sunday...

They will never get rid of Archer.

Of course not. How on earth would we have won the last game without the 2 yards generated by Archer.

He wouldn't give up the Steeler's playbook, so he was of no use to the Cheats!
