The hot topic around the Steelers these days is absences, what with the injuries to Ben Roethlisberger, Ryan Shazier, Maurkice Pouncey and others and the return from suspensions of Martavis Bryant and Le’Veon Bell.
Then there are William Gay and Lawrence Timmons, two old hands on defense who never miss a game for any kind of reason.
Gay will play in his 133rd consecutive regular-season game Monday night in San Diego, most by any current cornerback in the NFL. Timmons will play in his 93rd game in a row, fourth most among linebackers in the league..............
