Did you have a problem with the Pittsburgh Steelers 4th and 1 play call with 9:45 left in overtime of Thursday night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens? If so, you might take some solace in the fact that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn’t necessarily believe it was the right call for backup Mike Vick, either.

Not only was it not "fair", it was a low percentage call. I guess feelings sometimes trump logic. It was dumb.

Ben will never sign a new contract as long as Haley is the OC.

Being honest doesn't make Ben disloyal to Haley. Players get called out all the time when they mess up and way more often than own it when their actions fall short. So what's wrong for saying it like it is? A coach's job is to put ego aside and put his players in position to succeed at what they do best. Not what makes you look like the resident genius. Vick shouldn't have been put in that position. If you're gong to go down go down with your best. You have the best running back on the planet. One who can make a bad play good by making defenders miss. Give him the ball and if it doesn't work who can complain?

These coaches need some calling out, the media sure isn't going to do it and risk losing that parking spot.

It was a bad call.

I sure hope that loss doesn't come back to bite us end of the season.

It always does. Just like missed field goals always come back to haunt you at the end of a game.

There is no way that this loss doesn't impact the final season standings. Ratbirds may or probably will not find themselves this year (they tend to have down years from time to time), but when you look at which seed we get, if we get one at all, come playoff time, remember this one loss and do the math. Dollars to donuts it will matter. All football games do. That's one of the beauties of the sport.
