Boswell: 'I don’t want to let anybody down'

As Chris Boswell (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/chris-boswell/8fa5893a-778b-447f-8129-5232f184be2a/) was headed into the Steelers locker room following his first practice, one of his teammates stopped and introduced themselves.

It’s been a scene that has happened all too frequently this year, as Boswell is the fourth kicker the Steelers have had since the preseason began.

After Shaun Suisham (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/shaun-suisham/1375892d-6f3e-462a-b784-4c6cd6bce2b2/) suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Hall of Fame game, the team signed Garrett Hartley (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/garrett-hartley/4ca0c819-d15b-41a6-a701-b814fc4c46d3/). He too ended up on injured reserve, forcing them to trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for Josh Scobee.


Scobee struggled, including two costly misses against Baltimore, and was released over the weekend and Boswell signed.

“I am very thankful for this organization giving me a chance,” said Boswell. “I don’t want to let anybody down. It means a lot to me. I am ready to do my best........

The thing I ask to every kickers it's not cost a game.

Nothing is worse than losing a game because your kicker has not made his only job that he has to do.

he made 13 kicks over 50 yards while at Rice...

Why didn't we out right cut Hartley with an injury settlement? Surely his Hammy wasn't season ending. If he was cut at least there was a possibility we could resign him, when he was healthy.

He doesn't want to let anyone down? The person you will most let down is you, for losing that NFL check. Most kickers make at least 500k. Some make as much as $4.3 million (not that this guy will start making anywhere near that).
