Every fan and coach would say Archer, except Tomlin and Haley. Trade him for what? He hasn't done a thing except watch the ball go through the uprights.

That should be real hard. Write down Jones, Thomas and Archer on 3 sheets of paper. Put them in a hat and draw a name. The only puzzle being, which Jones or which Thomas should be released.

Yep. There's just no reason to keep him. He's already proven that he CAN'T play at this level.

Vick better be able to throw the ball further than 15 yards. This kid can get up under it anywhere.

Get rid of riD Archer.

Cut all three of them and sign two additional kickers. We might need them.

I know that it'll never happen, but I hope that it's Cam Thomas. I'd rather go with McClendon & McCullers at NT.

If a player has been on the field, he won't be the one that is cut. L Jones would qualify, but you know, Ben is hurt.

I am sure to be disappointed come Monday at 4pm.

I think three games, but that might only be if another team signs him.

Archer would have a better chance of clearing waivers and making the practice squad, if we really have that much of a desire to keep him. But no, Haley has too much of a hard-on for him, so it'll probably be someone halfway useful that gets cut.

I don't think it is Haley anymore. I don't think he has lined up for an offensive play yet this year. He is doing a fine job of watching the kicks go through the end zone and I think he has 2 returns so far. So things are looking up? Yeah right. Guy is a waste of a roster spot.

Haley got him off his squad, but Smith wasn't so lucky.

THis is the only thing I found:

if a player signs with another team's 53-man roster, or is promoted to his own team's 53-man roster, the player must be paid for at least 3 weeks of at least league minimum salary. They can be released before the 3 weeks is up, but they still have to be paid. There is an exception to that called the Contagious Disease Addendum

Contagious disease... well, that eliminates Cam Thomas.

Bryant may be injured. He has not practiced. Don't expect to see him on Monday night.

The Steelers waived Ray Hamilton from the practice squad.

According to Dale Lolley of the Pennsylvania Observer-Reporter, it's looking "more and more" like Martavis Bryant will remain on the Steelers' reserve/suspended list into Week 6.

The Steelers have a one-week exemption to keep Bryant on the suspended list, and appear poised to use it after Bryant "practiced sparingly" this week. They would have had to cut a player to activate Bryant. Steelers beat writers seem to have very few details regarding Bryant's absence from team activities. Bryant should be removed from all fantasy lineups entering Week 5.

Report: Martavis Bryant 'tweaked' his knee (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9416/martavis-bryant)

FOX Sports' Ross Jones reports Martavis Bryant was absent from Thursday and Friday's practices because he "tweaked" his knee in last Monday's session.

The extent of the injury is unknown, but there are no indications Bryant will miss an extended period of time

even if Bryant is inactive on Monday night, the Steelers still have to either add him to the 53 man roster and cut someone else by mon 4pm or waive Bryant which isn't going to happen...

I don't think that is necessarily true. I think there is a "loophole" that allows them to keep him "suspended" for one more week therefore allowing the Steelers to push the roster move off one more week. I could be wrong, but I thought I read that in several places...

Ryan Shazier will miss another game with shoulder injury

Posted by Mike Florio on October 10, 2015

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/10/10/ryan-shazier-will-miss-another-game-with-shoulder-injury/

Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, a first-round pick in 2014 who had a breakout performance in Week Two, will miss his third straight game since then.

The Steelers have listed Shazier as out for Monday night’s game at San Diego, due to a lingering shoulder injury. He fully participated in practice on Thursday and Friday, but Shazier didn’t practice on Saturday.

Also out for the Steelers, as expected, is quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who is 13 days removed from a knee injury. Questionable is cornerback Cortez Allen, who also has a knee injury.

All other injured Steelers are listed as probable. Not on the report, although reportedly injured, is receiver Martavis Bryant. The Steelers obtained a roster exempt for Bryant that lasts until October 13. Since he’s not on the active roster, he isn’t required to be listed on the injury report.
