The only thing secondary about the Steelers' blitz Thursday was the reliance on the secondary to execute it.
Defensive coordinator Keith Butler utilized pass rushers from all angles. Every starter was asked to rush the passer, but trends stood out:
The cornerback blitz. The safety blitz. Even, the combined cornerback/safety blitz.
The Steelers blitzed a member of their secondary 23 times — about one-third of the snaps — during regulation in a 23-20 overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens. That's a third of the Ravens' snaps over the first four quarters..........
