Art Rooney II forced a change in Steelers offensive coordinators before the 2012 season in part because he felt Bruce Arians’ offense was going to get his quarterback killed.


Fairly put or not, Ben Roethlisberger was sacked many, many times in that offense — 47, 46 and 50 in three consecutive years through 2009. Only one season did he stay healthy enough to play every game after his rookie season.


As Roethlisberger approached 30, the Steelers gave him a birthday present he did not necessarily want — a new offensive coordinator in Todd Haley. One of Haley’s jobs was to protect the quarterback, however that may be. Among the ideas was for Roethlisberger to get rid of the ball more quickly..........

Wow...finally coming to that conclusion?
