Here is my latest article for TPOP. It is a Steelers-Rams preview. Normally, I am the post-game reporter, but this week we switched things up...

Left is Right
by Tiger Rowan

When Todd Haley became aware that the Rams have given up the third-most rushing yards in the NFL (306), his first thought was probably: “We shall run the ball.” When he noticed that his current running back (DeAngelo Williams) has the second-most rushing yards in the NFL (204), his next thought was most likely: “Yep, we are definitely going to run the ball.” Then, when he remembered that the best running back in football (Le’Veon Bell) is returning from suspension, Haley’s culminating thought was assuredly: “We are going to run the ball down their throats!!!”

Yes... but, only on fourth-&-goal from the 15 yard line.

But it won't work unless it's a draw play...

Hell no. This is our new red zone offense:

1st: Archer up the middle, no gain
2nd: Delayed counter to Archer; dance around in place; try to cut to outside at last second as defenders close in; fail at this (-6 yards)
3rd: Holding penalty - R. Foster
3rd: Quick screen that doesn't work (-2 yards)
4th: Scobee missed FG

Close.
They'd line up in punt formation, with Archer as the punter... then, he runs up the middle.

"Punting inside of the 15???" you ask.

"They'll never see it coming!!!" I retort.

The holding penalty HAS to be a play wherein everything looks great: the O-line gives BB 7 seconds, who in turn finds a wide-open Heath Miller... and then... the flag comes flying in a full 5 seconds after the play is over.
