Hello SU Nation!!!

Being that I'm new to this board, there truly is something I wanted to express to you guys, before and after the Patriot game. I was glad to have Brady available for this game. I came in knowing that our young defense would be on a learning curve, and I wanted Butler to get a good look at Brady. Our defense struggled of coarse (mainly the secondary) but they held up better than I expected being that it was their first time on the field together, and Butler being our new DC.

I also was happy to not have Bell, Bryant, and Pouncey available. I wanted to see how our team could handle the adversity of opening up on the road against the defending champs without 3 of their key players. I thought they handled themselves well under the circumstances. New England is the type of team that you don't want to show your hand to.

I know they were missing L'afell and Blount, but they're not nearly as impactful as the players we were missing. I just want to say that my ideal scenario would be for New England to finish the season as the top seed and the Steelers to finish as the second seed. I then would like to meet them again in Foxboro.

As bad as it was for our defense in the opener, we still have more talent on our defense than they do. It was Butler's first game! New England doesn't really know him. If we reach the post season, We will be a much different defense than we were in the opener, and Butler will be a much different DC. Yes they can watch film, but Butler would have the advantage by already having a look at Brady, and throwing in new wrinkles.

I've seen Pats fans on their board bragging on how they held us to 3 points in the first half and how they own us. We stopped ourselves with bad playcalling. The trick play to AB that killed our momentum, the missed field goal, Heyward Bey's toe out of bounds to end the half, the draw play on 3rd & 6 in the redzone, and giving several carries to Will Johnson in the redzone when Williams was killing them. Their fans can pound their chest all they want, but giving up nearly 500 yards in your house, when the opposing team is shorthanded isn't stopping anything.

If we stay healthy and make a postseason run, please don't fear facing them. You should crave to meet them. If we can consistently punch it in the redzone, as well as Bell, Bryant, and Pouncey back, we will absolutely DESTROY that team. They can watch all the film they want, but it's different seeing them on the field.

Lets hope this happens Steeler Nation!!!!

I've wanted nothing more for years now. I'm sick of hearing that the only reason we won SB XL and SB XLIII is because we were "lucky" not to have to face the Patriots in the playoffs, and I've even heard Steelers fans say it. Nothing would please me more than to punch them in the mouth in their house.

I don't want a rematch. That means they would have to make the playoffs, which would mean they would have to win more games. I want them to finish 2-14 and at the end of the season, the stadium collapses. And then it's revealed the whole team was just a front for Brady and Belichick's animal porn ring, so the franchise is disbanded and everyone walks away shaking their heads in disgust.

Yeah cause the 10-6 05 Pats team that got manhandled in the playoffs by the same Broncos team the Steelers dominated the following week would have beaten the Steelers. As for '08, yeah let's assume the Patriots were a good enough team with Brady to go to that Super Bowl and that they wouldn't have choked in the playoffs against Pittsburgh or another team

Lucky? No.

Beneficial? Yes.

There's nothing wrong with admitting you caught a break. The Steelers caught a break by not facing New England in their Super Bowl years.

It also doesn't help that the Steelers themselves haven't done much to prove they could beat the Patriots. In some games, it looked like the Steelers didn't even belong on the same field as them (2007, 2010, 2013).

I hate games like Week 1 the most because New England didn't do anything special. The Steelers did everything possible to lose that game, but since the Steelers wound up on the wrong end of the scoreboard AGAIN, people will just say "New England owns Pittsburgh."

The only ones who can stop it are the Steelers themselves. They need to rise up and beat the ever loving shit out of New England.

I hope they get a rematch, but it won't matter if they don't get past the teams in front of them.

Oh come on now!!! I'm with fansince'76 here. I've been waiting to see them in the playoffs since after the 2004 Season. No way New England beats us in 2005! The Steelers were red hot and the Patriots took a dive in the last game of the season to get the 4th seed to avoid us. 2008 is up for debate being that Brady was out that season.

I don't know what some of you are afraid of! I'm hoping that we have a healthy season, get to the playoffs and go back to Foxborough for the AFCCG. There's NO WAY that putrid defense can handle our offense at full strength. They won't get off so lucky if we see them again. If we both were to make the playoffs, I would be HIGHLY disappointed en route to a Superbowl without knocking them off. Don't get me wrong it would be great to get #7 either way, but if we got it without smashing them along the way, it wouldn't be as fulfilling to me.

Just think about it... Things come in 3's!!! First Spygate '07, Then Deflategate '15, Now lets get in the AFCCG in their house and hand them Chowderheads Crygate '16!!! :tt03:

Just have a back up plan for the head sets. Cause you know, rain or shine, there will be "power" issues in Foxboro on that day.

I think you misinterpreted my comment. I was using sarcasm the entire time. There is no way they beat us in 05 and I am surprised people actually believe that. To assume they would have won in 08 and been to the Super Bowl that year as well is dumb as well

In fairness, that's not new material. It was already my theory on why Archer and Jones are still on the team - although in that case, they're just the ones who have the evidence.

That would be Tom Jackson of BSPN. He is one of the many reasons why I no longer watch that channel.

Also, He looked like there was a death in the family when the Cheats** lost to the Jets in the playoffs in 2010. (Ask Bart Scott)

Yeah I would love to see the steelers beat the cheats in the playoffs because, I can't stand Brady & the pats. Plus there is always something shady going down in Foxboro and, maybe this year Ben & the steelers can beat the hell out of them.

I really don't give a shit about the pantywaists, or their fans. If we meet them again, that's fine, I'm not afraid of them in the least. How ever I would be just as happy, maybe even a little happier, to see them go 2 and 14 the rest of the way.

This.

I really don't care who the Steelers play in the playoffs.
