No Dri to be found, other than back to return kick offs, which all went through the EZ any ways.

Notice that when our coaches are FORCED to be more mainstream and forced to use common sense, we get noticeably improved?

Crap bubble screens, worthless Dri touches, end of trick BS plays, and low and beyond, we are much improved. It's a shame those in charge have to be forced to make the better decisions.

Dear God, don't let the coaches get their way again.

Put it all in Ben's hands.

Yeah, basically any time Archer touches the ball is a waste of a chance that could have been given to someone more talented. I really hope they keep his ass on the bench where it belongs, or better yet, on the waiver wire.

I think now its year 3-4? with haley.. Although I had a lot of resistance at first. But Haley is the reason why our offense is the way it is right now. It is Haleys system but ben has to run it . I agree with you there. If Haley is the car manufacturer and ben is the driver hes got to let ben drive it the way he wants to drive it.

Indeed one of the puzzling personnel decisions of this brain truss. I think at least 90% of Steelers Nation would have kicked Archer to the curb, but here he is, taking a roster spot.

Hope they don't cut a promising rookie to make room for Bell.

Here's an idea, lets have a reality type vote off. First two up, Landry Jones and Dri Archer. Now make your case as to why you belong on an NFL roster.

Who the hell's Lyons? I didn't even know we had a guy named that on the team.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Murphy is the guy. We kept him active instead of Coates the past two games to give him his audition; he didn't do a whole lot, and so now it's off to the practice squad before he accumulates enough games to count as a season on an NFL roster. Then Coates gets the audition the next two games, and when Bryant comes back we get rid of one of the fullbacks if nobody's hurt by then.

Archer and Jones continue to Duce a roster spot apiece. Fuckity-fuck.

That 4th WR spot won't get any balls any how. If the rock ain't going to AB, Wheaton or Bell or Miller, it's gonna go to Hey-Bey. He has earned to get some targets. That is 5 players who will trump that 4th WR spot. Odd are, not a single ball will go their way in a game.

Haley wants a small RB.

Haley has constructed the best offense that this team has had in decades.

If the price of having the best offense in football, is to allow Haley to waste a draft pick on a small RB every other draft, so be it. That's a good trade-off.

fl steeler fan: Do you think Dri Archer will be cut today, and if he is can he be put on the practice squad?

Gerry Dulac: I wouldn't be shocked, let's put it that way. And if it isn't today, it could be in 2 more weeks when Martavis Bryant comes back. What I think the Steelers will try to do first is trade him to get one of the those two draft picks from 2016 they traded away to get Brandon Boykin and Josh Scobee. Believe me, they are going to try to get those picks back and there are very few guys they would be willing to trade who have enough cache to get a fifth or sixth round pick in return. Archer could be one.

Why on earth would any team trade for him? What's he done that would make any GM give up a draft pick for him? The Steelers have a history of trying to trade players who everyone knows isn't worth trading for, i.e. Gildon after he was clearly washed up, with Peter King carrying their water, reporting that Gildon still had a lot of good football left in him - that dude is a worthless shill, nothing else.

Come on ... 40 career rushing yards? 23 receiving yards on 7 catches? Career-long 23-yard kick return and 2-yard punt return? The guy is just waiting to explode. I wouldn't settle for anything less than two first-rounders and a conditional second. Probably the reason Murphy was cut instead was because we had too many good offers for Archer and Colbert just couldn't make up his mind in time.

When you start 8 yards deep in your own end zone, that 30-yard return gets you about 2 yards more than you would've gotten simply by taking a knee. Most returners can do that just by showing up.

Archer hasn't shown the ability to break a big play or even come close. He is not an "electric" returner like Devin Hester or even Antonio Brown. If he was, that would've become obvious by now. There is no place for him on this team, and in about 20 minutes, I'd expect him not to be on it.
