PITTSBURGH -- Ryan Shazier and Cortez Allen did not participate in the Pittsburgh Steelers' Wednesday practice, per the team injury report. They were both suffering from knee injuries.

Safeties Will Allen (concussion) and Mike Mitchell (hip) fully participated in practice. So did quarterback Landry Jones (concussion) and inside linebacker Sean Spence (hamstring).

The best thing out of that...I guess...is that Will Allen participated.

Precautionary.

Maybe, no mention of them being anything else - but knee injuries are always worrisome

oh my god. PLEASE THIS.

My fear is that the coaching staff still wont give him much opportunity to play with the 49ers most likely being run heavy for the game

Possibly explains why he didn't play last Thursday?

Going to be a ruff first 1/4 of the season while ppl get healthy and back into the line-up. If we can get out of it at 2-2, that would be good.

Might have to deal with 1-3. 9ers are no pushovers, winning in St. L is unlikely.

Cortez listed as Steelers’ lone questionable

The Steelers’ injury report, issued early Friday afternoon, has cornerback Cortez Allen as the lone questionable participant for Sunday’s home opener against the 49ers.

Six listed as probable are safeties Mike Mitchell and Will Allen, linebackers Ryan Shazierand Sean Spence, cornerback Brandon Boykin and quarterback Landry Jones.
