View Full Version : Rex Ryan takes a jab at the Steelers over their handling of Gronk

Much has been said by football fans and media regarding the non-plan plan the Steelers had for Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Few NFL coaches or players have called out the Steelers for allowing Gronk to run free repeatedly.

But Bills coach Rex Ryan says what he wants when he wants, and on Wednesday he said what he wanted on the topic during a conference call with New England media.

Via Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com, Ryan said, “[I]t’s better to put one guy on him than nobody on him. We’ll try to have somebody on him at least.”

How should the Bills handle Gronk? It’s a subject that former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison will address on Wednesday’s Pro Football Talk on NBCSN, which gets rolling at 6:00 p.m. ET.

thats not taking a jab. thats just telling the truth. its way easier to defend him if somebody is actually covering him

What did Rex say that was wrong? Keith Butler and the players totally dropped the ball in that piss poor defensive performance they showed Thursday night.

Hope the Bills kick the ever-loving shit out of them. Not only that, I hope the Bills win the division so they don't just cakewalk into a #1 or #2 seed like they always do.

They might just do both.

The Bills are rock solid on defense, they have a good running game, and a pair of good receivers. If Tyrod Taylor can be "above average", they should go 11-5.

Yeah, I don't think anything he said was off the mark. We fucked up.

The Bills winning the division might be a stretch, but it would be nice to see any semblance of competition from that cupcake division.

Foot lover gets along with Mr. CoolShades. I'm sure it was all taken humourously.

With that said, I do hope the Swills kick the crap out of the Cheats** I don't hate the fat foot lover as much as others here because I like when he gets under Darth Bellicheat's skin

Anyone with a working brain, who saw the highlights, knows that the Steelers sometimes had no one covering Gronk at all, and other times, some defenders were in the general neighborhood, but not covering in any tight fashion; all Rex did was acknowledge that, generally speaking, it's probably a little helpful to actually try to cover him with someone. That is hardly smack talk towards Pgh.

Ryan just said what we all already said. It was remarkably dumb of Butler to not bother with gameplanning for Gronkowski. Yeah, the Steelers deserve to lose to not accounting for the Patriots best player.

Anyway, while I like the Bills to win Sunday, there's sixteen weeks in a season. It's a long season. I don't believe in them. They've beaten the Pats before, only to proceed to shit the bed everywhere when the rubber meets the road.

The AFC Least's mediocrity isn't just because of the Pats, its the rest of the division contantly tripping all over themselves and opening the door for New England.

Rex is right, the truth hurts.

seriously, how in the world do you leave the other team's most dangerous receiving threat unaccounted for? :noidea:

Hey Rex was just just telling the truth and, I'll be pulling for the bills to crush the cheats and, hope they win the division. I hate the cheats more than any other team and, that includes the Rats.

We already know the Patriots Defense is shit. The Steelers' inability to do things in the red zone did them in.

Not surprised the Bills are gaming on them.

40 points given up against the Pats. Hey Rex, piece of advice, shut your mouth

Hey Rex, if you're going to bash someone for their Defense, it reflects better on you if you do a better job than they did.

The Steelers, for all of their Defensive problems, only surrendered 28 points to New England. In Gilette.

You gave up FORTY. In BUFFALO.

That Great, all-time talented Defense of the Buffalo Bills! Bestest Defense of all time!

Fuck the Pats, but fuck the Bills too.

So let's see...

The Pats are 2-0, and depending on what the Jets do tonight, will sit alone in first place in the AFC East.

The "AFC Contenders" Bills and Dolphins are once again behind the 8-Ball at 1-1, and if yesterday's game is any indication, the Bills are nowhere near as good as they thought they were.

Ready for a Patriots waltz to a high seed in the AFC Playoffs again? I'm not. :yuck:

What happened was, they motioned Gronk out wide, and he went mostly uncovered for a TD . . . sound familiar? Wasn't the mouth saying something about how the Steelers handled that exact same play? Oops.

And one of his wins for the bills was in week 17 last year, when the game was not important for the patriots.

Yep the same exact play they got on us only we let chandler catch the td. they let gronk catch it and their db's were doing the same pointing at each other bs. that is 2 games in a row they used that play. sooner or later someone will stop it. after seeing it enough hopefully.
