If I bet this game, I got to go with SF getting 5 and a half.

SF is gonna bring it. If our O brings its A game, and the D at least bothers to cover their best players (unlike not covering Gronk week 1), we could win, but I don't see it being easy, at all.

Bowman is back to being a beast.

Hyde is a load while still being fast.

Kap can destroy you with his legs.

I would probably make the odds a pick 'em if I was setting the line.

Don't put too much stock in one game. I think the Vikings were vastly overrated. The 49ers should have beat them because they weren't much. Let's not forget while the Steelers may have shown some warts they still took it to the defending champ pretty good, in their building, in an emotionally charged envirorment. How many teams were going to go into Gillette and win that game?

And at the risk of sounding like a broken record the Steelers getting a full four days preparation advantage, without even taking into account you can add another day because the Niners will have to travel across country. So essentially the Steelers have 5 more days to prepare than the Niners. Are at home, in their own time zone. To the Niners players body clock this will be a 9 a.m. kick off.

I see no way the 49ers aren't adversely affected by the way the schedule was laid out. I see no way the Steelers aren't on their top form given the extra days prep they get from having played Thursday.

I think the Steelers pull away late and win this one handily.

Yea, I did consider the extra 4-5 days prep. Hopefully, that will come into play.

I feel virtually no team would likely win the game in NE last week. I am not putting too much stock into that loss. But, even though MN isn't that great most likely, SF was very physical, much more than I anticipated after all their losses...Smith, Smith, Willis, Culliver, Borland, McDonald. It's only 1 week, but they are better than I thought.

I have a different take. The extra days rarely help the Steelers. I would love for them to prove me wrong, but I highly doubt we come out crisp and strong. I have a nail biter to the end and quite possibly a home opener loss for the Steelers.

It helped last year when they had a few extra days between week 2 and week 3.

They had destroyed Carolina in Week 3 last year.

Yep.

It seems under Tomlin that no advantage actually turns out to be an advantage. More days to prepare means more ways he can out coach himself lol. This has trap game written all over it.

If the Steelers offense scores on drives (no more FGs), they should win by 14:
Niners 31
Steelers 45

If the Steelers offense bogs down in the red-zone, it'll be a nail biter:
Niners 31
Steelers ???

I was gonna mention this but didn't want to be Debbie Downer. IMO, Tomlin just has less urgency when given extra advantages and it ends up not helping, as the team is a reflection of him. Oh wait, when he gets really pissed he takes away ping pong, from just the young players. That is some iron fist.

This.

Tomlin has seemed pretty defensive to me about his decisions in New England which tells me that the urgency we'd like to see probably won't be there. Not sure if it's just the recent history of blunders we've had against west coast teams, but I have a feeling this is gonna be a "Oh shit, it's the 4th quarter, probably should score some points" kind of game.

I would be pleasantly shocked if we came out cool and collected and hitting like animals. San Fran's short turnaround bodes well for us but we tend to have a penchant for squandering advantages.

That all being said, I hope we kick their Cali asses! :tt02:

Steelers rebound offense gets going 34-17 don't ask me how they contain that fast QB known as Kap.

I concur. If the Cheats could have shoved 60 points down the Steelers throats they would have. This has been the Cheats way for years and what a time and place to do it if they could have. It was a pretty close and winnable game for not having a secondary!!

Spread moved to -6, meaning more people were betting on Steelers than SF at 5.5. I wouldn't touch the Steelers -6. They could prove me wrong, but that looks like one of the worst bets of the week.

I don't know if it is my perception but, historically, the Steelers are not a good bet against the spread. If they are favored by 6 at home, get ready for a nail biter.

Not forget that you did not agree that the pats be at -7 last week!

But vegas were 100% right!

In case you missed it, the end of the game was fixed out the ass. Allowing for the late TD, with 2 seconds left, made the bookies $100 million.

5. Late TD by Steelers made an impact
When Pittsburgh WR Antonio Brown caught a touchdown pass with two ticks remaining in the game Thursday night, anybody with action on the game took notice. The “meaningless” score turned a 14-point lead for New England into a 28-21 final, meaning the majority of bettors pushed the game, which had the Pats favored by seven in most spots at kickoff.

“Usually a push sucks for the house, but this one actually helped,” said BetOnline Sports (http://online.casinocity.com/sportsbooks/betonline-sports/) Brand Manager Dave Mason. “Surprisingly, this game was a small winner for the house. If the game went over (the total of 51) it would have been real bad for us.”

Lol.

I think the Steelers will need to score 30+ points if they want to win. Shazier probably won't play. Which means Williams will take over with Spence out. Thankfully the 49ers QB isn't the greatest passer, but he can probably hit wide open receivers.

So I guess the Patriots* turned on the headsets to help the Steelers and Belicheat actually told Haley what to run.

So, if it is all indeed fixed, then the Steelers should win by exactly 6 points.

Right?
