Jordan Berry (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/jordan-berry/59a5f818-d403-4975-9f9e-6a372bd33cfe/) was in the Steelers weight room this morning, working out and not certain what his football future was going to be. He knew he gave his all throughout training camp and the preseason, but the NFL is unpredictable and he wasn’t sure if he would land on the team’s 53-man roster or be headed back to Australia.
Until fellow punter, and fellow Australian, Brad Wing walked in the room............

He's apparently modest, too, because IMO, he was the clear-cut winner of the punting job. I've read a couple of things saying things between he and Wing were neck and neck, but from what I saw, he was clearly the superior punter.

You know, with Berry's punting (hoping he can flip field position for us often with those monster 60+ yard punts) and Scobee's ability to actually kick it through the end zone on kickoffs, it appears that we've finally seriously upgraded our kicking game, which seems like it has always cost us at least one game a season for God knows how long now.

Scobee can also hit some longer FG's. Sushi was very accurate to a certain point and Tomlin limited his longer attempts. Scobee could make one or two of those instead of turning the ball back over in the middle of the field. Another game changer.

I think all that the Jags knew is the young kid looks about as good as Scobee but costs $8 million less. Of course, they won't know if the kid can get it done when NFL pressure is on but we will see.
