Remember when everyone flipped out when the Steelers didn't draft this guy? http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9428/louis-nix

Thought it could be fun to track former Steelers that get cut, guys who were called for hard on the board to get drafted and didn't, etc.

Here is another one: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5998/doug-worthington

And this one just makes me sad: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9671/shaquille-richardson - what a waste of a draft pick

Close, but the Steelers "must draft middle linebacker of the future" almost got himself cut - http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8441/arthur-brown

Wasn't this guy supposed to be the answer in the secondary? http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9436/justin-gilbert

OR was it this guy? http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9364/stanley-jean-baptiste

Ok. I'll stop now. I actually thought some of these guys were great prospects as well.

Nix was injured; there's really no telling what kind of player he'll be. Although with two major injuries in two years, it could be mostly injured is what he'll be.

Still, unless he is unable to play at all this year, I have a hard time imagining he'd be worse than Cam Thomas. Our current nose tackles are all crappy or nothing but a big question mark, we could use one more reliable player for depth on the DL, so what do we have to lose by bringing him in for a visit? If we think his body could hold up over the season, we could get lucky and pick up a player for practically free.

Texans waived NT Louis Nix.

Nix was the 83rd overall pick in last year's draft. He never played a down for the Texans after missing his entire rookie season with a wrist injury. The Texans then signed Vince Wilfork this offseason and drafted NT Christian Covington

just like with Phil Taylor, Louis Nix has a history of knee problems.

no thanks...

Steelers should sign this guy immediately, he's way better than Josh Harris:

Raheem Mostert: If Mostert doesn't end up on the Eagles' practice squad, it will be because another team signed him to their active roster. Mostert looked like the best player on the field all night, rushing 15 times for 69 yards and catching eight passes for 93 yards. It remains to be seen whether the Eagles will try to keep Mostert in Philadelphia, but the former Purdue Boilermaker likely earned himself a job in the NFL Thursday.

I mean, whoever we sign, we basically get a free try because of the idiot suspensions. Bell comes back in 2 weeks, you cut whoever has done the least good. If it's the new guy, then fine; if it's someone else, then we've improved. I don't worry about displacing a guy at the end of our bench to try it, because let's face it, the end of our bench is not very good.

Bryant comes back in 4 weeks, same thing. Pouncey in 8 weeks, same thing, although by then someone else will undoubtedly have gone on IR themselves.

And Mostert returns kicks. He led Division I. Kill two birds with one stone. Goodbye Archer and Harris.

They will probably keep Archer to try to continue to justify the selection. They will say "just wait, the kid is getting ready to explode".

I am in the get Mostert camp.

Mostert's issue in Philly is he's stuck behind DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews, Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner on the depth chart.

he won't have that problem here...

me too.

and I agree about Archer, I would get rid of Harris first as he has sucked both running the ball and in pass protection.

I don't mind Kenjon Barner. We should sign him if the Eagles cut him

Barner was talked about in the draft section a few years back I seen the other day reading all the old stuff posted .

""Le'Veon Bell , Kenyon Barner all well suited for zone blocking schemes and will be available at a lessor cost on draft day allowing us to fill other needs early with guys who also can make an impact and a little later guys like Knile Davis and Mike Gillislee should still be on the board ( probably round 4 guys )""
