Judge lets Brady play, ruling against NFL in 'Deflategate'

Well, there it is.

But the judge wasn't posturing.

He came out forcefully in Brady's favor, maligning the NFL for its handling of the scandal that erupted after the AFC championship game in January, when officials discovered during the first half that Brady used underinflated footballs.

Well, I'll give Goodell and his goons props for attempting to stick to their guns at least.

I just threw up in my mouth a little typing that.

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/9/3/8804543/tom-brady-suspension-appeal-nfl-roger-goodell-deflategate

Tom Brady's four-game suspension from the NFL for his role in DeflateGate has been nullified, according to the Associated Press (https://twitter.com/AP/status/639440886930219008).

In May, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed down the punishment, which Brady officially appealed last month. Although Goodell was the arbitrator for the appeal, he changed his original ruling and has now decided that the quarterback presented sufficient evidence to reduce his punishment for allegedly having knowledge that Patriots staff deflated footballs ahead of the AFC Championship against the Indianapolis Colts.Goodell previously claimed that the only way Brady would be able to get his suspension reduced or eliminated was if he provided new information -- specifically, information that Brady initially did not provide to the Wells investigation, such as text and phone records. It's unclear yet if Brady did present new information, or if there were other factors at play.
Players like Richard Sherman and Ndamukong Suh beat suspensions in the past in front of an NFL appeals officer, but neither had Goodell as the arbitrator. The commissioner eliminating the suspension that he himself placed on Brady is somewhat unprecedented.
Brady's suspension wasn't completely erased upon his initial appeal, which was heard by Roger Goodell. That prompted the quarterback and the NFLPA to take the league to federal court. They did, and as many predicted, the won.
With Brady's suspension now eliminated, the DeflateGate saga, which dragged on for more than six months after the AFC Championship, is now in the rearview mirror.
Brady and the Patriots will begin the 2015 season with a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, Sept. 10.

Here's my suggestion as an alternative to the current NFL.

It would be called WWFL. Worldwide Wresting and Football League It would be a branch off the WWF.

No rules.

Here's the criteria....

1) Do whatever drugs (to include Steroids) you want to do.
2) Current people in Prison eligible to play.

......and...... Make O.J. Simpson the Commissioner !

As much as I hate New England, fuck Roger Goodell. He is the REAL problem.

Goodell Lost this case back in 2007.

He swept Spygate under the rug and the Patriots are now above him and the league. Years of covering that team and organization up like a protected special child has bit him in the ass. His incompetence as a commissioner created this mess. If he nipped this in the bud back with Spygate, the Patriots wouldn't get this idea that they can tamper and cheat as they please.

New England is totally free to play dirty and cheat as much as they please, knowing Goodell is now powerless to stop them. Think Kraft is going to forgive Goodell for this? You're out of your mind. He REALLY has Rog by the balls now. Now he's going to twist them EXTRA hard.

Oh, and New England, it doesn't make lick of difference the outcome of Week One is, how much they beat the Steelers by, or what Super Bowls they "win", the Patriots are still a load of garbage.

Goodell is presiding over too much controversy. A terrible precedent to be set here. If I was the NFL I would have reduced the suspension before it got to court. Besides Goodell, they need to fire their attorneys too.

NFL will not seek stay of Brady's suspension (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1163/tom-brady)

http://www.rotoworld.com/images/headshots/NFL/1163.jpg
The Boston Globe's Ben Volin reported the NFL will not seek a stay of Judge Richard Berman's decision to nullify Tom Brady's four-game suspension.

This confirms an earlier report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This means Brady will be able to play while the NFL appeals the ruling. With the appeal process likely to take several months, Brady should get in a full season regardless of the appeal decision.

I think that's the biggest thing that's going to come from this. From here out any suspension or fine to come from the NFL will be challenged in court. The courts should pointed to the CBA and stayed the hell out of it.
