One down and four to go.

The first pre-season game of the 2015 Pittsburgh Steelers season is over. Few questions were truly answered due to a litany of key players who never took the field. It’s next to impossible to gauge improvements at the positions of linebacker, cornerback, and safety when Jarvis Jones (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JoneJa05.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-stillcurtain.com), James Harrison (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HarrJa23.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-stillcurtain.com), Cortez Allen (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleCo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-stillcurtain.com), Mike Mitchell and Shamarko Thomas (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/ThomSh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-stillcurtain.com) viewed the entire game from the sidelines.

What we can do, however, is take bits and pieces of what we saw on Sunday night and apply it to the way we analyze the four upcoming preseason matchups. Here are 6 pivotal players, at key positions, worth watching over the next games..........

Remember, Dupree and Jesse James are basically useless for the rest of the year. :nono: Can't count on them at all to have any impact. Worthless. :chuckle:

James had a terrible night...but there is no one on the roster that is going t push him for that 3rd TE spot. I look for him to make the team...add some bulk...and be used as a blocking TE ..........and his height (6'7) makes him the occasional redzone threat

4 more scrimmage games to go - give it time.

Why is everyone so impatient these days? They want to fast forward through preseason to get to the season games, then fast forward through the regular season to get to the playoffs.

Doesn't anyone just enjoy the games as they come anymore?

BTW, nice writeup....I'm reading only SU writers lately and Twitter.

Trib, PostGazette, and other "Newspapers" are becoming repetitive and late with their analysis.

Thanks. I greatly appreciate that. I may be taking on a dual role at Still Curtain with an analysis of the Steelers Coordinators Thursday comments...and a Sunday morning gameday "who to watch for" segment.
