The unveiling of the “new” Steelers defense really will not take place tonight, because here is the flavor everyone is likely to get from them in their game against the Minnesota Vikings: Vanilla, linebacker Vince Williams promised.
“I think we’ll probably be pretty vanilla in this first preseason game, so I don’t think you’ll see too much,” he said.
Yet, while tonight’s game might look more like a fire drill on offense and defense, there is a growing sense coming into it that after two weeks at Saint Vincent College, the Steelers defense just might exceed expectations............
