From the Wexell article:

Tomlin was on the aforementioned DVE Morning Show yesterday and was asked why he's been keeping James Harrison out of practice. "I'm not keeping James out of practice to keep him healthy. I'm keeping James out of practice to keep the rest of the team healthy."

James's doesn't need any extra wear and tear on his body. Hopefully, this will give him some extra playing time as the season goes on.

Yeah, a guy like James Harris (who's a workout warrior off the field) will be just fine without practicing right now.

Sooner or later he is going to need practice to get his body ready.

Not really. You need to practice to push muscle memory. James has that. Simply to get the body ready means conditioning. And that, I'm sure, James has been doing.

So you think Harrison will be fine with no practice until the Patriots' game? When I have an extended time away from football or basketball I need to get adjusted to playing again. Certain stabilizer muscles need help as well as getting accustomed to the flow and speed of the game.

He will be strafing, backpedaling, unexpectedly changing direction and hitting.

Sooner or later he is going to need practice to get his body ready. All James needs is a few quarters for mental reps to get his timing in order. Nothing to worry about.

What was the real reason according to the article?to keep the rest of the team healthy." So James wouldn't destroy everybody.

There are FOUR more weeks of preseason.

I'm guessing that James Harrison will get enough practice time, at some point, during those FOUR weeks (in order to be up to "game speed").
