Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is not ready to take the air out of Johnny Football.

"Despite what everybody reads and says, we've not at all given up on Johnny (Manziel),'' Haslam said at Browns training camp Saturday. "We think he has the potential to be a good football player. Now, having the potential and doing it are two different things, but I think we've said numerous times that you're not going to win consistently in this league without a good quarterback and we're trying to make that happen.''

What's more, Haslam stressed that Manziel doesn't have to prove this year he can cut it to stick around.........

Well, since checking out of rehab he has managed to stay off the radar, so that's something, I guess...

When haven't they gotten suckered? Maybe the late 80's, early 90's?

Word has it that the starting QB job is McCown's to lose. The Browns want Manziel focusing on his life right now. So basically either McCown has to have an awful preseason followed by equally awful start to the regular season OR Manziel has to look lights out in practice and preseason for McCown to not start at least the first 4-6 games of the season (unless he gets hurt).
