I have a question regarding getting autographs from NFL players.

There is a list of players that will be at the HoF signing merchandise, I'm debating on putting the $$ into an authentic jersey of Joe Greene.

My reasoning is that if I'm going to get his autograph, I'd rather it be on an authentic jersey as opposed to a replica.

My question is, what items do they usually have "on hand" at the sessions? Or do you have to bring your own?

His autograph for "premium" items, is $150, plus if I get a jersey, that's another $375 (or whatever the cost is) which normally wouldn't be a big deal except our house got hit by lightning last week (not direct hit) and we lost 3 TVs (40", 42" and 50"), Xbox 360, Blu-Ray, WII, router and other stuff. Our deductible is $2500 so more than likely we won't be able to recoup any of the money lost.

Losing all that took it's toll on my finances. My strategy is to claim the HoF cost as an early Xmas present, which I may get away with when mentioning the whole thing to my wife. Depending on the merchandise they have on location, I'll need to order online, from NFLshop or wherever, which means I'll need to order it soon.

Any suggestions / help / advice?

I'm going to the enshrinement ceremony and the game in a couple of weeks.

From what I can tell, you bring your own:

Each autograph ticket is good for one (1) autograph on your item. An autograph ticket does not include the item itself. Players reserve the right to reject any items.

Note: Premium items include jerseys, helmets and football unless otherwise stated.

Color me jealous - MJG is my all-time favorite player. Hope you have fun!

I know the price doesn't include items, I just figured they'd want to capitalize by selling items there. But maybe not.

I bought a vintage Joe Greene jersey from nflshop.com. Funny thing is, I ordered the jersey and signed up for shop runner, which gives free 2 day shipping for a year. Turns out the order didn't quality, so I called to take the hat off the order. The guy gave me a free upgrade to over night shipping so I'll have the jersey / hat tomorrow.

Now the only question is if I can make it to Canton in time to get a slot for the autograph session. He is only going to do it for an hour, I'm going to try and get to Canton by noonish on Friday, the sessions go on sale on Friday at walk-up locations.

If I don't get a slot I'm going to be pissed.

The jersey was $300 so price wise it qualified, I think it didn't qualify due to where item the Jersey or the hat was shipping from, maybe not same location. I don't know.
