"Blast from the past"

Ernster was probably the ONLY guy that could make Mitch Berger look like a viable alternative at punter. This team has probably had worse luck with punters than QBs...

I remember the game against the Bengals, it was probably the worst game I've seen in my life by a punter

It was his last game of his career.

The really sad part is that it's almost a decade later and we're still just as unsettled at punter as we were then.

Brad Wing is the eighth Steelers punter since 2007, and after an inconsistent season in 2014, there's no guarantee he'll be around for the long-term.

I not want to return to the debate Cowher vs Tomlin, but for the punter position, the Steelers were much better under Cowher

Meh. Nobody is going to mistake Josh Miller for Ray Guy. The punter position is a lot like the center position - find a good young one and you're set for about the next 10-15 years. Noll had some pretty terrible punters (and PKs) too. I know the common narrative nowadays as to why he went for it on 4th down late in the 4th quarter of Super Bowl X was to "let the Steel Curtain win the game," but it was really because Bobby Walden had already almost had two punts blocked and another one he didn't even get off because he mishandled the snap earlier in the game. Gerela shanking two FGs and an extra point in that game didn't help matters either.
