Steelers giving Blake opportunity to take corner role in secondary

The Steelers didn't put up much resistance to prevent Brice McCain from signing with the Dolphins and weren't interested in bringing back Ike Taylor.


They kicked the tires on potential free agent replacements and hinted toward using a first-round pick on a cornerback.
None of that happened, and the reason why is becoming more evident — they really like Antwon Blake...........

I like what I've seen from him, within reason. He did a good job as a stand-in last year, just like McCain, but let's not go crazy. We were probably going to keep one or the other for depth but not both, and the fact that Blake had an RFA option made it a no-brainer.
