The Penguins lost four games to one to the New York Rangers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It’s probably the fault of Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
It’s a theme around Pittsburgh, seemingly tongue-in-cheek, but he’s the only coach that can lose a game for a team in another league.
When the Steelers’ offense is successful, it’s due to the outstanding play of Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and everyone else but Haley. Whether Haley actually wants public credit isn’t publicly apparent. Maybe just to remind a few of his more outspoken critics, Haley directed the Steelers’ offense to its best scoring average (27.3 points a game) in franchise history.
That raises the bar for 2015, a year in which the Steelers will return every important facet of that offense. It also is a year in which the Steelers have no coaching turnover.
