We got a good bye and we weren't boned as bad with our no Le'Veon games. And we face Peyton late who will probably at best be worn down so that is good

Since the league doesn't allow suspended players to practice with the team or even use team facilities, they basically served us on a platter to the Ravens. Our home game against the Ravens and no way is Bell even close to being up to speed. I see a 1-3 start.

polamalubeast

The home games will be winnable in 2015....But the road games will be very tough (NE, BAL, KC, SEA and possibly SD)....The Rams could be tough, the bengals are a good team when they are not in primetime and the browns won by 21 points last year against the steelers

A record of 4-4 on the road would be great

I predict the steelers will win 3 of the last 4 games(and 4 of the last 5)

The steelers will win vs colts,at CIN vs DEN and in CLE,they will lost in Baltimore

Meh...they should be 2-2 at worst and let's not forget the Ravens are missing some key players as well. I'd give up Bell for Ngata with the addition of DeAngelo Williams almost every time.

not necessarily

Its a tough schedule, last part of it is brutal, but late bye helps. MNF in San Diego would be problem, cause short week becomes even shorter and Bruce is comming to Pittsburgh following sunday.

NCSteeler
04-22-2015, 01:42 AM
The bye before Seattle should help if the coaches put in the effort on game plan and prepare properly. We could easily split the division as we have recently, so thats -3. Then we can always find a way to lose to the Raiders, were just really good at that, so total -4. Could we lose at Rams and At Chargers, certainly. -6 . What we all really know is that the schedule does not matter, has not mattered in a few years. At any given time this team is more than capable of losing games they have no business losing and possibly beating the Cheats to open the season would set us up to lose the home opener. This team is totally unpredictable.

It's also no surprise Pats have the easiest schedule again, but will receive much kudos in the press for going 12-4 against the lousy AFC East

Some brutal looking pairings on this schedule... 10-6 might be optimistic. I hope Bell can negotiate down to 2 games. That short week turnaround for a Thurs against the Ravens is going to suck if LeVeon only has 3 days to practice. Early predictions:

Pats - L (Without Bell this game is tough, I see Pats taking it)
49ers - W (Kap runs all over the place but O pissed by Pats game)
Rams - W (Close game with a ST play being the difference)
Rats - W (Bell goes off, Ben shreds the Rat D for 400 yards)
Chargers - L (Phil Rivers pulls it out in a shootout in SD)
Cards - W (Low-scoring affair decided by a late Sushi FG)
Chiefs - L (O still in a rut, Alex Smith's dink and dunk takes it)
Bungles - W (O gets back on track, Shazier intercepts Andy twice)
Raiders - L (Derek Carr has a career game)
Browns - W (Ben reminds Johnny Football who the King of Ohio is)
BYE
Seahags - L (Still don't trust us off a bye week)
Colts - W (A shootout with Andrew is always fun)
Bungles - L (Post-Andrew shootout funk aligns with a division game)
Broncos - W (Peyton throws a bunch of ducks, Cortez Allen looks like a God)
Rats - L (Another 3-point affair in Baltimore)
Browns - W (Browns trot out a new QB for future look-see)

Hey, Cap.

I wonder if I'd get more joy from the Steelers going 19-0... or... from watching Roger Goodell's head literally explode (like in Scanners).

Trick question... because, if the Steelers went 19-0, Goodell's head would subsequently explode.

I honestly think we can go 3-1 against the AFC West (maybe even sweep as the Broncos do have a completely new coaching staff). The first game of the season is always a toss-up (not having Bell will hurt but it is not like any teams are playing well for that game). I think we beat the 9ers and Rams too. I think 9 wins minimum for us, but think we go 11-5 and win the division again.

9-7 is pretty generous.

The Steelers are good, but they aren't THAT good. Especially without Bell. If they couldn't beat the Ravens without him, they're in trouble.

7-9 at best.

The 2008 Steelers could pull it off against the hardest schedule because they actually had a great defense in place to hold teams down. These Steelers do not.

At least we'll get a real barometer on what kind of mettle this young team has.

Yes, but our offense, even without Bell, is still light years better than 2008, especially along the OL. And we don't have to worry about certain players being inserted back into the lineup when they have no right to be due to sentimentality. We also don't know how many of those "strong" teams on the schedule are going to take a big step backward and underachieve next season.

The ravens are a very good team(Almost beat the pats in their house in the playoffs)and the steelers had no backup behind Bell last year....Williams is much better than Harris and this is not even close....And in the first 3 games, the 49ers and the rams are very average

The trap game is the RAMS game.

Everyone one is well aware of the Taperiots. The Niners have been crazy good; so, no one is overlooking them. The Ravens are the week after the Rams... on a shortened week... which means that it is the epitome of a game that will be overlooked.

Regardless, the Rams are GOOD. That defense is only going to get better as Aaron Donald get even more comfortable; plus, they just got a QB.

Uh, Gradkowski shredded our secondary in 2009. This secondary is worse than that one. We tried to unleash you know what for that game at home.

See: Troy and Ike in 2014. Nowhere near the players they once were and were liabilities, but were handed the starting jobs anyway. Kenny Stills torching Ike in Pittsburgh and Bert exploiting Troy's diminishing skill in the playoff game, and I bet you if Ike played, the Ravens would've hung 40 on the Steelers. That's how bad they were.

Fair enough assessment. The Steelers, without Bell, still do have good offense, and this time they're preparing a replacement for him in DeAngelo.

I don't know, maybe my outlook will change depending on what the boys do in this year's draft.

Bengals and their mental midget of a head coach always choke down the stretch, I trust our boys to win it against those pretenders in December. Also who knows how good of shape Peyton will be in week 15 or if he will even be healthy enough to play. I don't think they will be as tough to beat in December. We can certainly beat Indianapolis as they have trouble being competitive with a high powered offense. Seattle and Baltimore will be tough to beat, not impossible, but tough

I still think 11-5 with the Division win. The AFCW is terrible except for Denver and they have an entire new coaching staff. Raiders are at home for a W. The Chiefs (unless they get a QB) are just above average. The Chargers may have a rookie QB for all we know at this point, but their talent is on the downhill end of their careers anyway. Denver is the only one, but they just lost their top TE as well, so they really only have 2 WRs which are proven. I think the 9ers are a wild card, but again new coach and lost some decent talent as well so there will be some growing pains with them (Shazier is going to crush Kap anyway). Rams are a trap game so that is one to watch out for. AFCN we will sweep the Brown this year as well as the Bungals (This is the year they finally decide their coach and QB are not going to cut it so it will be a down year I think) and split with the Rats (like usual).

You want to fire the G.M. "right now" based on a projection of fans?

The schedule pisses me off. Especially since Goodell went out of his way to accommodate his buddies Kraft and Biscotti with the Bell suspension. I mean what bullshit, giving us our home game against the Ravens on a Thursday the week Bell gets off his suspension. How the fuck do you suppose we integrate Bell back into the offense in 3 days? A suspended player isn't allowed access to the team or it's facilities, so you essentially just made Bell's suspension 5 games! :frusty: Figure the first meaningful contribution from Bell comes starting week 5.

Anyway it's put us behind the 8 ball, but that doesn't mean this team can't defy the odds and make a good season out of it. I certainly am not into the notion of firing someone based on projections.
