Former Pittsburgh Steelers great Hines Ward (http://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/search/results?q=Hines%20Ward) is teaming up with restaurateur Howard Shiller (http://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/search/results?q=Howard%20Shiller) to open a new restaurant and companion wine bar in Seven Fields, Butler County.

Shiller, a principal in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Great Grille Group, which operates Jerome Bettis Grille 36 on the North Shore, confirmed he and Ward have finalized leases for the former SiBA Tuscan Grill & Wine Bar and its companion BOhem Bistro & Bar, both of which closed last year.

Look for Table 86 by Hines Ward (http://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/search/results?q=Hines%20Ward) to open in the former SiBA space this summer, said Shiller, with VINES by Hines Ward (http://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/search/results?q=Hines%20Ward) to open in the former BOhem space.

I don't get it - do these guys like losing their money? :noidea: The restaurant business is one of, if not the hardest to make a buck in.

It's the worst imo. I deal with it everyday and see more fail than succeed. Why anyone would take that money and invest in that, I have no idea...

We had a family restaurant and did the renovation ourselves. Unfortunately we learned the hard way you have to be able to lose money in the first 3 years to get the name out there. I wish Hines luck but you are right. It's not the ideal investment unless you have the passion and money to survive

The new restaurants will focus on quality food, Shiller said, with Table 86 focusing on a variety of butcher-block burgers, seafood, pastas and salads, along with some Korean barbecue items.

In other words, comparable fare to an Applebee's or Chili's yet probably a lot more expensive. Best of luck to Hines, though.

I pass that location probably 4 days a week in the summer time for work ... well maybe I should say used to as I just do not believe I can continue with my work since breaking the leg ( still not close to right ) walking with a cane no way in hell I can walk on grease ( asphalt sealcoatings ) nor do I feel like I can do patch work in my current state ... not that I would be dressed in proper attire to go to a sit down restaurant at those times anyways LOL

I'm sorry to hear about your broken leg, Paul; when did that happen?

Maggiano's is much nicer, in my opinion. Hines' place looks cheesy. :chuckle:
