Steelers cornerback Antwon Blake became the first of three restricted free agents to sign his tender Friday.
Blake tweeted a picture of him signing his contract. He will make $1.54 million this season.
The Steelers are depending on Blake to be a big part of the defense this year with the loss of Ike Taylor and the team not adding any free-agent cornerbacks.
Blake has played in 30 games for the Steelers since joining the team in 2013.
Last year, Blake finished with 42 tackles and an interception.
As a restricted free agent, Blake could have received offers from other teams, but the Steelers had the right to match any offer.
Two Steelers restricted free agents have yet to sign their tenders — fullback Will Johnson and safety Robert Golden.
