The old regime is slowly fading away from the Pittsburgh Steelers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/pittsburgh-steelers)' defensive roster. Brett Keisel (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1609/brett-keisel) is gone, and so are names like Ryan Clark (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1588/ryan-clark), James Farrior (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1595/james-farrior), Casey Hampton (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1599/casey-hampton), Aaron Smith (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1633/aaron-smith), Ike Taylor (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1637/ike-taylor) and possibly Troy Polamalu. As James Harrison (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1601/james-harrison) is returning to the team in a 'supporting role', the defense is in need of a leader.

As Mike Tomlin spoke to media at the owners meetings (http://sportsxchange.com/nflmeetings/2015/AFC/Tomlin,%20Mike.txt) in Phoenix, AZ, he was posed the question as where the leadership will come from on the defensive side of the ball. He didn't have to think long to respond.

"I think that's been clearly defined a year ago. Cam Heyward is the core central leader to our defense and a good one. He's a good player. He's got good football character. He's hard-working. He's a good communicator and he's vocal. It's been fun to watch him ascend over his years with us to that role. I look forward to him continuing to grow in that role."..............

I'm looking for big things from Heyward this year...

Especially with them playing some 1 gap plays for the DL. Tuitt will make a splash too.

And I'm very good with that. This defense was TOTALLY different when Harrison arrived.

Heyward was known as the leader at OSU. No surprise here. Deebo for 1 more year as Heyward steps up as well. You need more than one leader anyways. Back in the day with Rod, Greene, Lloyd and Lake. Then with Ward, Peezy, Bettis, Hartings, Harrison.

He's a beast. I look for him to have 10-15 sacks this year.
