Steelers @ Broncos - Does Ben play until halftime ?

Usually the 3rd pre-season game the starters play until the half. Does Ben play until the half just to stay sharp with the first stringers ? Does Byron play until the half due to he's the " starter " for the first month ? What a conundrum .

If I was coach I'd sit Ben out this game and get the "starters" ready. Ben can get some warm-up time the last game.

Pouncey might not be the only surprise starter Sunday night in Denver.

It looks as though Roethlisberger might make his second start of the preseason at quarterback and Dennis Dixon will get his first chance to run the first team after him.

"I intend to give Dennis Dixon some looks with the first group against some good people," Tomlin said. "I think he's earned that likewise. And that's what this preseason is all about."

I predict that the coaches won't play Ben against the Broncos' third and fourth stringers... we don't want him softening up while unnecessarily exposing him to the risk of injury.
He will probably get a series or two against the Broncos starters and then sit the fourth game. We should be able to discern the starting QB from the course fourth game... Whichever QB starts vs Carolina will likely play just a few series and will be the starting QB at the beginning of the regular season.

I dont think he should play, It's important for Dixon and Lefty to get as much time as possible each with the starters.

NO. Most likely, DD will play the first half and Lefty the second. Ben can be utilized on the sidelines serving Gatorade . . . ummmmm . . . I mean brainstorming with BA and MT on plays. :heh:
