Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/ben-roethlisberger/54dda34e-9e43-4c57-9397-1143ddced5d6/) is, as Antonio Brown (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/antonio-brown/859114e9-d70b-477b-8eaf-6f34bb1ffc03/) describes, the ‘general’ for the Steelers offense. So having Roethlisberger signed to a new five-year deal, means he will be in charge through the 2019 season.

Some of Roethlisberger's teammates shared what Roethlisberger means to the offense and what makes him the franchise quarterback that he is.

Guard David DeCastro (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/david-decastro/77df3eb5-6638-4fa8-88a0-74a43a25a457/)
“You can’t win in this league without a really good quarterback. It all goes through him. He is a special player. He does a lot of things you can’t coach. He is one of the biggest competitors I have ever been around. He wants to win.”...........

Please watch the video of Ben at the podium about halfway down the page. If you've supported Ben through thick and thin and given him the chance to prove himself in all aspects, your heart will swell with pride watching the man he's become. There's nothing fake or scripted there. He's speaking through his heart and his maturity shows. Kudos to his family, his wife, the Rooneys, his coaches, and all the mentors in his life for not giving up on him. Job well done! :applaudit:

To the haters....just keep on hating.....we've got Big Ben V2.0.

After watching that, It's hard to believe he was "that" knucklehead early in his carrier. I guess people grow up at different speeds. So glad he did!

Ben and Ashley make cute babies. I'm so happy for them. And for us. Obviously.

Now our defense needs to get their shit together.
