PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Pittsburgh celebrity is taking some heat for a rant about one of our local sports teams over the weekend.

Curt Wootton, better known as “Pittsburgh Dad,” was at a local bar watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins games Saturday night.

Cell phone video captured Wootton talking out of character about the Penguins and the sport of hockey.

“Hockey is Canadian and Russian,” he said at one point.

Yeah, and? Who HASN'T gotten pissed and yelled at the TV when their team is losing/playing like crap? You should hear some of the things that has come out of my mouth during games. It makes this seem like a speech on world peace.

The downside of being a celebrity, even if he's just a local one. You have to be perfect in everything you do. Can't be like or act like a normal human being, because there's someone out there with a cell phone camera ready to record it and then post it for the world to see. And we wonder why so many of them turn to drugs and alcohol? Living your life in a fishbowl has to suck big time.

I agree with all of you. It seems like you can't go anywhere or do anything anymore without having to deal with possible repercussions of someone videotaping you no matter what you might or might not be doing. You would think they work for the Patriots. :chuckle: They just want their 15 minutes of "fame," in my opinion.

I have never, ever taken video of anyone or anything on my cell phone. I'm just not into that kind of thing, and I don't want a bunch of jackasses on my cell phone.

You watch me during a Steeler game, you would think you were watching Joe Pesci in Goodfellas

My nickname at the old Steelers bar was Turrets. With that being said, these two moronic pool playing high school dropouts knew who they were engaged with and wanted their 5 seconds of fame. As for Pittsburgh Dad's response video, Awesome! Keep up the good work Pittsburgh Dad, you have made me and many of my relocated Pittsburgh buddies laugh!

Asinine. He shouldn't have had to apologize for that.
