Everyone knew the Steelers would miss Le’Veon Bell’s ability to rush the ball and to catch passes out of the backfield. But as it turned out, the Steelers missed him most in pass protection.

Veteran Ben Tate was signed Tuesday and started, and a miscue on his part in pass protection allowed Baltimore to seize control in a 30-17 victory in an AFC wild-card game Saturday night at Heinz Field.

The Steelers trailed, 23-15, with a little more than eight minutes remaining and faced a third-and-4 from their 26. Tate and left tackle Kelvin Beachum blocked the widest rusher, which allowed pressure to come on Ben Roethlisberger, who eluded the rush and threw to Tate. The ball ricocheted off Tate and into the hands of Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs...........

Maybe Tate makes that play better if he had been brought in a month earlier like he should have been. Organizational arrogance at it's finest.
