This is not what I wanted to see. Like we have explained, he is no the same Polamalu we used to know and him and Mitchell did not have the chemistry like Troy and Clark did. The Steelers have won 4 games in a row, all without Troy in the lineup. Why break up something like this?

I hope he is in a limited role.

I love Troy but this is stupid. It better not bite the Steelers in the ass.

Yes, I have the upmost respect for Troy and he deserves to be in the hall of fame someday, but he is past his prime and the team has come together and built a chemistry without him. Why ruin that tonight?

I would think he may start, just to be listed as the starting SS. After that, he may see limited action. Might be more of a nod to his career than anything.

He has earned it, obviously. Regardless, I don't want him on the field much at all. Our secondary is at it's "best" in the latter part of the season and I wanna keep it that way. No Troy or Ike in the lineup.

Tomlin disagrees.....

Does Troy start tonight?

A. Yes he does.

Q. As the coach, is it a difficult decision to insert a guy into a group that had been playing well without him over a period of time?

A. Not when it’s Troy.

Q. So the decision in this case came down to who it is?

A. You bet.

Well, I hope he plays well tonight and shuts us all up.

Me as well. I know there is no one that wants to see him do well more the Troy does himself. And if anyone is caoable of pulling a epic game out of his bag of tricks...it's Troy.

Not "all" of us. I have every confidence in Troy.

Well, we shall see what happens. I am glad he will start, even if he may not play much.

If he plays well, then awesome. But if it becomes obvious that he's a liability out there then he needs to be pulled.

Agreed, and thankfully Tomlin has never been shy about doing this in the past.
