It didn't take long for running back Ben Tate to see how driven his Steelers' teammates are.

It’s barely been 48 hours since running back Ben Tate (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/ben-tate/44f484a8-19bb-4e06-a6f0-58ca71011ecf/) signed with the Steelers, but he already has a feel for what the team is like and understands why the Steelers are a playoff team.

“It’s a very welcoming team. Guys are great. The locker room is great,” said Tate during a break on Thursday morning. “You can tell these guys are together, there is that camaraderie. Everyone is together, everyone is talking, and there is a really good vibe here. I was telling people it reminded me of back when I was with the Texans and how we had that good vibe. Good teams have that. It’s good to be back around something like that.” ...............

But are they playing ping pong? :chuckle:

Welcome to the family Ben. Job 1 is ball security and pounding the rock on Saturday night. AND, keep Big Ben clean.

Must be kind of weird for guys like him. They are taught to hate this team and that QB. Then they get signed and find out it's not so bad after all......and better than where you were!

What a jerk. Total locker room cancer already; no way can we make it another 2 days with this guy.

Hey, for 24,000 dollars, and whatever he gets as a playoff bonus...I would spend the week with T-Suggs and his crew for that kinda loot.

“I just want to show that I am here and willing to do whatever it takes to help this team advance, to get to the goal. I am willing, ready. I want to show why I have been successful in this league running the ball. I want to put my best foot forward.”

This is exactly what I want to hear. Welcome to Pittsburgh, Mr. Tate. :tt02:

He's coming aboard at the right time.

The vibe is much better now than it has been the past several years.

I like what I hear. Keep that attitude and you will endear yourself to Steeler Nation.

As long as he knows if he tries anything funny, we're gonna kick him to the curb before he can blink twice.

That said, I'm glad he recognizes the drive in this team right now.
