The Miami Dolphins (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/mia/) are headed toward their offseason golf dates carrying more baggage than just their clubs.
After finishing another playoff-free year with a loss to the lowly New York Jets (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/nyj/), the Dolphins now have to deal with another issue from oft-upset Mike Wallace (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/9348/). The big-money wide receiver did not catch a pass in Sunday's 37-24 home loss and did not play in the second half. Wallace's absence was initially explained by coach Joe Philbin as a "coaching decision" but Jeff Darlington of the NFL Network later reported that Wallace committed arguably the worst sin in professional sports.
He quit on his own team after seeing another teammate score a touchdown........

Yep. No matter how bad the FO has been in recent years, the fact that they kept Brown over Wallace should get them a little bit of a break from the fans. Talk about making the right choice.
Whoever gave him that contract in Miami should also be handed his walking papers. Wallace is a man unworthy of both his paycheck and his overinflated sense of worth. Everything he ever did in Pittsburgh was the direct result of one man. Ben Roethlisberger. As you can see, without a competent QB, he ain't shit, while I think Brown would still be successful with a lesser QB like Tannehill simply because of his work ethic. A work ethic that Wallace could only dream of having.

Tannehill has actually, quietly, had a pretty good season.

I'm not going to totally blame Mike here cause the Dolphins have been a mess. Now I don't like Mike quitting on his his team, but lets not act that Mike has a history of being a me-first malcontent. He has always had a great work ethic. He never showed up out of shape when he was a Steeler. He NEVER ever had a bleep on his radar as it goes to getting in any off the field incidents. When he was here, a lot of people said he was strictly a one dimensional WR. But Wallace has clearly debunked that myth. Wallace can and has run every single route that Antonio Brown can run. He has tried to adapt to that Mess in Miami, and I think he finally broke down yesterday. But still, he has not been a Bust there at all.
I guarantee you if Mike is released...all you will see is another Randy Moss-like situation where he goes to another team, a team of structure...like the Patriots, and then becomes a Brady Favorite, and has All-World stats the next few years. But unlike Moss, Mike does not have a Bad Attitude, or has a Me-first persona. I just think the kid has confidence in his ability, and wanted the ball thrown more to him. I seem to remember a certain WR named Hines Ward who acted the SAME way here in Pittsburgh that Mike is in Miami.

steeldawg? That you?
Never saw Hines Ward tap out of a season-ending game against a division rival before he hit free agency...

Not a surprise, since he quit on the team his entire last season here. A fitting end to the year for a guy who finished with 8 more receiving yards than our running back.
Tannehill has actually, quietly, had a pretty good season.
Try to picture Jon Kitna with 1,000 yards a season added because of the rules. That's what I see, not only with Tannehill, but a lot of guys leaguewide. You can probably add Dalton, Romo, Cutler, Stafford and several others to that list - slightly above-average QBs who you turn around and suddenly they have 4,000 yards as a matter of course, and who's winning at the moment depends mostly on how the supporting cast and defense are playing, which is a whipsaw from year to year. It's gotten hard to even tell who's a good quarterback and who's not anymore, which is why you get so many of them on 6-year, $100 million deals that the team regrets as soon as the ink is dry.

Not true.
Yes true. There were constant stories and quotes from Ward saying he wanted the ball more, and that he wasn't being used enough....MANY STORIES. That's the same thing Wallace is doing. Only difference is Hines never walked off the field on his team. But now I am hearing reports that Wallace quitting was false. His coach did indeed ask him to sit down. But regardless, Wallace no matter what you think is nothing close to being a Bad cancer of a player. He's always been an extremely hard worker and dedicated player here in Pittsburgh. And I will always thank him for that. Especially when you consider some of the Human SCUM we have had here at WR....Like Burress and Holmes!!

Thank God we signed AB and, look how Ab is the best WR in the game right now!
All that cash Wallace is making plus he gets to live in Miami. So what if you only get targeted a few times. Find ways to get open and don't forget to make those difficult catches.

Which makes the statement not true. Thanks for proving the point.

By your logic, all WRs are the same by wanting the ball. The difference of character between Wallace and Ward can't be measured. Despite your bad attitude, I've been trying to give you a chance but how can I take anything you say seriously when you write stuff like that? Wallace's attitude didn't go to shit until his game went to his head. Mike Wallace is the center of his own universe no matter what team he's on. Comparing Ward to Wallace is laughable.

Wonder if his "attitude" would've wound up any different had he stayed in Pittsburgh...

I doubt it. It started in his last year. So glad he declined the contract and then they offered it to Brown.
