Ten seasons ago, the Steelers moved out of their Three Rivers Stadium home of thirty years and into Heinz Field. Some understandably felt and may even still feel nostalgic for the old Astroturf and stands that literally shook and bounced in TRS. TRS had been the sight of numerous playoff games, championship games, great plays, triumphs, and heartbreaks. We've witnessed a dynasty bud before our eyes and dominate the 1970's and made us proud, and we've also regrettably witnessed Alfred Pupunu catching the TD pass that broke the hearts of millions. No doubt TRS has left it's mark in Pittsburgh sports history.

So one would ask, would Heinz Field be a site that would help carry on a new generation of memories and tradition for Pittsburgh fans?

2010 will be the tenth season at Heinz Field, and I say it's done a pretty nice job. So to commemorate this anniversary, this thread is to go over the most memorable Steeler home games at Heinz. It can be from a win or a loss.

I will never forget last year's home opener against the Titans. Troy having the greatest 1st half EVER, then getting injured :( Hines fumbling the ball on the 5 yard line in what would've sealed the deal.. Ben with the game-winning OT drive.. Amazing game.

The big playoff comeback against the Browns was at home, wasn't it?

Let's not forget the AFC Championship to get us to the Super Bowl.

When we beat the Chargers in the playoffs on our way to the Super Bowl.

I say the win over the Ravens for the 3rd time in a season to get to the Super Bowl. That was freaking Epic. Troy sealing the deal with a TD off an INT. That was greatness. Watching Ray have to look at all the towels waving knowing his Rookie QB crapped the Bed and were were going to the SB and he wasn't. That was great.

The Win that season over the Dallas Cowboys was also Epic. Romo throwing that pick to Deshea, greatness.

I always love when we beat the Ravens and Cowboys.

A home playoff win against the Pats would complete the Trifecta for me. I'm eagerly waiting a Home Playoff win over the Pats in Heinz Field. Some day I'll get it. That'll be sweet.

I'll agree with you. Beating the Ravens three times in the same year a once to get to the Super Bowl. That is about as sweet as it gets.(although beating the Pats would be icing on the cake)

Yeah it was...that's the one I was going to bring up too. Great, great game.

The '02 Browns playoff game was just amazing.

Beating the undefeated Patriot and Eagles in back to back home games in '04.

Those are the ones that stick out to me the most.

What makes the Bettis trucking over Urlacher game so great is it was a "must win" situation for the Steelers to even make the playoffs. We had lost 3 in a row. sitting at 7-5 and hurting to get into the playoffs. The Bears were at 9-3 having just won 8 in a row. And that game, we beat the snot out of them, physically beat it right out of their skulls. And then we went on to win 7 more games in a row including the Super Bowl and 3 road playoff games. That game, against the Bears was the "Turning Point" in the entire Season, and it could be argued, the play where Bettis TRUCKED over Urlacher was the "moment" that defined that entire season.

I hold a special place for the Packers game last year. I was supposed to be at that game, it was going to be my first Steelers game. Unfortunately we got stuck in West Virginia because of the snow storm. I missed an epic game...

Some others that stand out to myself... that have not been mentioned

- Opening game at heinz versus the Bengals, and remember Bettis having a Big game
- Next year when Tommy Gun came in for Kordell in a come back win versus Brownstains (was at this game, first trip to heinz)
- OT Tie game versus Mike Vick and Falcons
- Jaguars playoff game in 2007 season, even though we lost was a hell of a game... and the stadium was rockin...

And one odd one... that I cannot seem to forget for some strange reason, when we lost to the expansion Texans (their 2nd year I think) Kris Brown FG to win, where Steeler D only allowed like 50 yards total offense and still lost.... I said for weeks that I couldnt believe we lost that game.... and still cant.

Of course the 2008 playoff games top the list....

2008 was just full of memorable games.

I'll NEVER forget the feeling I had when Troy picked off Flacco and made the house call to seal the deal in the championship game. That game has to be the most memorable since it put us in the Super Bowl and was against the damn Ravens.

Then there were both Charger games, and that sweeeet win over them Cowboys

Even the games we lost were memorable. James Harrison long snap anyone?!
