“Georgia.”

“Counter.”

As Sunday's 42-21 win in Cincinnati wore on, the Steelers offense kept going back to the well for one of the same two play calls.

“It just got to the point we knew what the call was gonna be,” offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum said. “No matter what was going on, (we) knew it was ‘Georgia' or ‘Counter,' one of the two.”

So did the Bengals. It didn't matter.

“We knew what we were doing, they knew what we were doing,” Beachum said. “It's just a testament to our offensive line and our will just to be able to impose our will on the defense.

One of the greatest feelings imaginable...

We know it's coming, you know it's coming....still....we ARE going to impose our will. :tt03:

“We're able to stay together,” Beachum said. “The cohesion and the chemistry of us all playing together, even some of the backups. …

We've all been here (at least two to three) years together — all fighting, all training together, all working out together at the same time, all being together all the time as much as we can.

“And it's showing the dividends on the football field.”

If this offensive line can keep it together every week there is NO limit to what this team can do.

Until you bring up the defensive secondary.

David DeCastro earned a ton of accolades for his pull blocking, including on this site. But the best blockers weren’t offensive linemen on this day. Matt Spaeth not only caught two passes but also posted a 3.1 run block rating that was best on the team. Second was fellow tight end Heath Miller at 1.7. And the best overall blocker, as is becoming the case week after week now, was Kelvin Beachum at a golden 4.1

Man, what a find Beachum has been. And credit, too, to Mike Munchak for instilling the technique and smarts any undersized offensive lineman needs to succeed.
