With their latest open week finally upon them, the Steelers might not be in the position they would prefer, have not arrived there how they thought they might, but, with the bottom line of 7-4, they are smack in the thick of the playoff chase.

Don’t tell anyone, Cam Heyward seems to want to say, but the Steelers have won four of their past five games. They are in a virtual tie with the Cincinnati Bengals for first in the AFC North.

“I like us under the radar,” said Heyward. “We don’t need everybody to talk about us. They can save that for the Denvers and New Englands of the world.

“We just worry about taking care of business. We have a five-game stretch where we want to take care of business and cement ourselves in the playoff picture.”

...Injury updates

A number of players injured for a while could return next week, although outside linebacker Jarvis Jones is not likely to be one of them. He has not practiced since his wrist injury in the third game.

Among those who could return are rookie inside linebacker Ryan Shazier and safety Troy Polamalu, both out with knee injuries, and Taylor, whose right forearm was broken in the third game.

Taylor has practiced the past few weeks, although on a limited basis. He said Dr. James Bradley will check his progress Monday.
“Dr. Bradley is going to give me the green light or he’s going to keep it on yellow,” Taylor said. “Hopefully, he’s going to give me the green light. I’m just happy practicing with the guys.”

They aren't under the radar, analysts like the players, do not know which team will show up from week to week.

If you talk the Steelers up they play down. If you talk the Steelers down they play up.

Our defense needs to be on the radar by the end of the season if we want to go anywhere.

Probably an editing error like so many online in this day and age.

I like when they're the underdogs because then they play their brains out.
