Often too much credit goes to the sophistication of NFL coaches who have all the modern tools and computers at their fingertips. Many assume they have everything figured out to such fine detail.

Then along comes the story of the Steelers coaches sending in James Harrison to play fullback against the New York Jets, but calling a play he never practiced, a play meant for real fullback Will Johnson.

Yes, coaches can get confused at times.

The play was not called by Ben Roethlisberger, but by the coaches, and we do not know who sent in Harrison, whether it was Mike Tomlin or offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Someone shouted for Harrison to go into the game. If it was Tomlin who sent Harrison in, you could understand the confusion if Haley called a play that was designed to have Johnson at fullback...........

No confusion Ed, Tomlin just isn't qualified to be a head coach, nor is his ego brother Haley.

I'd be willing to excuse one bad personnel call if they hadn't screwed up the entire game plan up to that point. So really that play was just indicative of the ill-preparedness of the offense from the play calling on down. Not really an outlyer, but an exclamation point to the woefulness of the our gameplan.
