As fast as Brown is he goes down way to easily. I thought I saw him trip on a blade of grass and I think it is artificial turf. Logan brakes the first tackle usually.

I think i know what play you are talking about and he did get tripped up from a tackle. he runs north and south and doesnt dance around I thought he (brown) did well.

The thing is we don't have a clear punt returner. I don't know if Logan is worth the few extra yards we get and tying up a roster spot. IF he makes the team it will most likely be his last as a Steeler. *Also see Randal El.

He is a rookie give him a chance he did not do a bad job at all.

With both Brown and Sanders doing a good job of holding their own, does anyone think that Arnez Battles roster spot becomes expendable for Logan? Or does Battles special teams/coverage skills earn him a spot on the 53 man?

thats a tough question...

battle and el both were solid insurance policies for wr/st, but it is looking like both might be expendable if it werent for their locker room presence, veteran leadership, and significant guaranteed signing bonus.

if the steelers are thinking long term, i think they gotta find a way to keep both rookie wr's (even if it means dumping logan).

What I saw was a rookie who has speed but doesn't seem all that tuff when he gets hit. If this doesn't change it will also be true as a receiver. Run after catch is a big thing.Being able to shed that first tackle is a must in the return game too. that's all I'm saying. I hope he proves me wrong. I see all these things in Logan and that's why i like him. Can he make the team as just a return specialist?

Probably not. So what it amounts to is my 2 cents.

I agree that there is room for improvement and I am sure Tomlin will be working with Brown and Sanders. I believe that we have two future receivers in the making for the future.

I just don't see room for Logan on the team, of course I want him to make the team and wish he would, but with Sanders and Brown impressing and showing they can catch and return he is just going to be the odd man out IMO.

If Brown gets tough he IS the man!! No doubt. If he gets past that first wave look out he's going to the house!! I hope he develops. I'm afraid if or I should say when Logan hits the waver wire Balt,or Cincy will pick him up. There was at least one ST brakedown last night. Can you imagine Logan returning against us if we don't shore things up. I know "the sky is falling and all that stuff". to many what ifs. we are actually in an enviable position here. How's that?

Not knowing before free agency that Sanders and Brown would eventually be on the team and perform well up to this point has made a tough decision for the coaches now. I doubt that they would of signed both EL and Battles if they knew what they were getting.

I thought that Brown did well also. He got the ball up the field. With more experience he'll start breaking through. I'd hate to see Logan kept at the expense of Brown or Sanders.

indeed i think logan will be the odd man out.. but he'll find a job elsewhere, just hopefully its no one in the division where he can return kicks back against us. ill be surprised if any of the other wr's get cut

I think both of the rookie WR's will make the team and either Logan or Battle will be the odd man out.

If he's cut I think he goes to Miami, and hopefully not to a division rival. He's from miami afterall, and they have no returner after dumping Ginn

wishful thinking I know.....

Yea. Kind of noticed he goes down seems like even before he's touched by a defender. Has shown speed but not agility, so far... But that's why Tomlin tested him out AND played Logan. So far I'm with keeping Logan at that spot.

If Brown can show he can handle the return duties, Logan will be gone. Battle is a better overall special teams player than Logan and he could if necessary, contribute on Offense. I think the Steelers carry Wallace, Ward, Brown, Sanders, Randle El and Battle into the season. I'm also hearing great things about Brandon London...he may be a PS guy.
