View Full Version : Predictions vs. the Jets

27-24 steelers in overtime

Leveon Bell gets back on track and finally scores a couple on the ground but we earn the sloppiest possible 27 points. Ivory and Harvin have big games but we just barely squeak this one out

The turnovers will be the key.The jets are -17 in turnovers this year and the steelers defense has created seven turnovers in the last 3 games.

If the steelers create turnovers, it'll probably be a blowout, but if this is not the case the game could be very close

I'm done with predictions for this team. I know they're capable of beating anyone when they're at their best. But I also am not at the point where I trust them to bring A effort every game. Letdowns happen with every team. But this team specializes in them. If they somehow manage to win their next two and go into the bye at 8-3 I'll reassess.

But all the same I'll play along. Steelers 26- Jets 16. Each team will score a defensive TD. Ben will pull it out in the 4th uarter after struggling much of the game.

This, oh my god, this!

I have no idea. We could hang 50+ points on them and not blink. Or, we could put up 3 fieldgoals and lose by one point.

This is exactly why I don't predict scores either!

(However if I were going to predict a score it would be Steelers 34 Jets 20) :wink02:

I look for a cocky Steelers team to play their worst game of the year against a Jets team they will no doubt take for granted. Steelers 13 Jets 20, Steelers gain over 400 yards of offense but commit 5 turnovers. Also should be aware that since 2011 whenever the Steelers and Ravens play on Sunday (Not counting the 2 Thursday games because of the 4 extra days of rest which runs counter to my point here), the winner is 1-4 the next week, probably due to the emotional nature of the win and the trouble getting ready to mentally prepare for the next game

From the way the Steeler's started the season not knowing what team will show up and play, the past few weeks I've been predicting them losing 31-13 ! Well, we've all seen that they have suddenly been playing 'lights out' football. Hopefully they win the next 2 very winnable games going into BYE week. But to keep up with the trend of predicting, and the way they've been playing and game outcome, I'm not going to change anything on my part and hopefully the outcomes will continue as the past few weeks did. So, I'm going to do the samething, 31-13 Jets and hopefully the Steeler's will have another unbelievable game ! GO STEELERS !

The Jets win if the Steelers let them hang around like the Bucs did. Don't see that happening. 38-17 Steelers. Jets score one of their touchdowns in garbage time.

This is a very losable trap game. I hope the steelers recognize this.

Final Score:

Steelers 20
Jets 17
Sushi walk off fg as time expires as Ben tosses 2 more tds and gets his second game winning drive of the season.

A jets fan want Todd Haley as their next HC!!!!!

People might hate this idea but.. what about Steelers OC Todd Haley as our next HC???

He washed out in KC but at the end of the day he took a team that won only 6 games in 2 years under Herm prior to him to a division title in year 2. Year 3 they struggled with injuries and he had a personality clash with management (probably the biggest reason he was fired). Like we see often times coaches are better in their second opportunity and I think if it wasn't for the personality clash anyway with Pioli, who is a tough cat to mesh with anyway, he probably wouldn't have been fired.

He worked wonders in AZ as O-Coodinator though and is doing some tremendous work in Pittsburgh now. He is also great in the passing game, particularly good at developing/getting the most out of WRs: where his roots are (Larry Fitzgerald in AZ, Dwayne Bowe in KC, Antonio Brown in PIT - all developed and had their best years under his tutelage).

Plus he got his roots here - first job was offensive quality control and WRs coach under Parcells' Jets.

I'm going to say the Steelers come out prepared and ready for a fight. I think they want to put TB and JAX behind them. The players and coaches are maturing and we will see a consistent effort Sunday.

This. The Steelers specialize in playing down to weak opponents. This week will be no exception. I think everyone should hope for the best, but expect the worst.

Got a feeling I'll be creating another "Rant Thread" at about 4:30pm on Sunday.

This reminds me too much of 2007. The Steelers on a roll coming off a big home divisional win traveling to New York to face the 1-8 whose lone win was a home win by less than a TD against the lone remaining winless team. Of course everyone remembers what happened the week after they netted a dominant victory on Sunday night football, this year's Tampa Bay abomination

With 5 he would set the record for most touchdowns in 3 consecutive games....maybe with 4 too.

Win or lose, all I know is that they'll somehow strip some years off my life with this game. They can NEVER let me relax and just watch a blowout from start to finish. It's absolutely not in their DNA.

Plus everyone has to realize that they are following the script here of sucking us in just to rip our guts out, right? Maybe not this game, but soon. I really hope they prove me wrong, but until they do I'm convinced that I've seen this movie before.

But none of this actually helps me. Even if I see it coming, they STILL manage to rip my guts out, so I might as well be duped and go along for the ride...

We win, 56 - 0.

That's what the game day threads are for! :D They help to keep me from yelling too much or getting too upset.

I won't be in there today unfortunately since the game isn't being shown here.
