The 2014 NFL draft was hailed as one of the deepest in the past three decades by Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert.

In the spring, Colbert called the receivers coming out "a really great group." Colbert's sentiments were echoed by those who analyzed the draft. Mike Mayock of NFL Network called the group of draft-eligible receivers "one of the best ever."

Halfway through their rookie seasons, most of those receivers are living up to the hype. They have been so good that they are on pace to become the most productive rookie class of receivers in NFL history..............

I think that Bryant has a chance to be as good as any of the other WRs taken this year, outside of Watkins.

123 yards and 3 TD's in his first two games...

Sounds like a pretty good "chance" to me.

Although now teams will start to be more aware of him.

I hope you're right, but there seem to be a lot of good ones. Mike Evans has been a little banged up this year but he seems like he's gonna be really good. That kid, Benjamin, on Carolina has been something special. Brown on the Cards looks really good as well as Robinson on the Jags, Mathews on the Eagles, Moncrief on the Colts... just a really deep crop of rookie receivers this year. We might have gotten the best value though with Bryant in the 4th. We'll see.

Benjamin has been better than Watkins. Bryant is not near Benjamin status...yet...

Benjamin started off fast but he's come back down to earth. Part of that is due to Cam Newton not throwing the ball very well.

Watkins has broken out with the switch to Kyle Orton at QB.

Robinson is putting up decent #'s now with Bortles at QB. Although it is mostly in garbage time, but not Robinson's fault that the Jags stink.

Will be very interested to see how Beckham Jr. does with an extended run of play now that Cruz is hurt.

not really , statistically damned near identical prior to todays outcomes have not checked since
The 2014 NFL draft class was supposed to be a once-in-a-generation group of talent, and so far many players are already living up to those expectations. But no group is playing as well as the receivers. Look at these numbers:

Moncrief looked really good too when given the chance to play but Colts DEEP at WR its a crowded room ....

That is true. I keep forgetting about him because of how deep the Colts are at the position. But I think Moncrief should really pull away from Nicks in the next few weeks. Real shame about Nicks. He was well on his way to being a dominant player before injuries just sapped his legs.

So Bryant has less than 200 yards receiving and 5 TD's!

Holy Shiite!
