Yes and no, it's a shtick - a caricature of a Pats fans. I mean, yes, he'd a fan. But it's a persona that he uses because he's actually a comedian and Paul "Fitzy" Fitzgerald is part of his routine.

An oxymoron if I ever heard one. Pats fans in general are caricatures and jokes (with The Patriot being an obvious and rare exception). Exhibit A

I HATE the Pittsburgh Steelers organization with their whiny, Spygate-obsessed fans. They are the most hypocritical organization in sports, building their teams around thugs and felons, pretending to be a classy organization. From Jerry Porter to Ben Roethlisberger to Plaxico Burress to Santonio Holmes, I've said for years that the only difference between the thug Bengals and thug Steelers is football success.

Be that as it may, (and I have no love for Pats* fans), Fitzy's purposeful "amp it to eleven" routine is part of his persona.
