Do the Steelers have a multi-talented offense that is ready to break out at any minute and carry them over the second half of the season? Or did many people simply overrate the talent, and what they have shown is what they will get for the rest of 2014?

They have a dynamic quarterback, halfback and wide receiver who are among the best in the game and a line that has gathered positive ratings through the first seven games.

However, what they do not have at the moment is a consistently capable wide receiver after Antonio Brown, and that could very well be their biggest problem...........

I've been disappointed in Wheaton and Moore. I thought that they'd both step in and do a good job.

Martavis didn't get a chance early. Now that he's active, he needs to make the best of his opportunity.

At first I thought we would be able to easily address the CB need early in the draft........now I just don't know. There are still way too many holes in this team.

It takes most WRs three years to "get it." A little quick to be giving up on Wheaton and Bryant just yet.

I remember Lake & Lebeau after the draft saying how they liked the CB's they currently had on the roster ( Taylor, C. Allen, Gay, McCain ) and there wasn't a need to select a CB high. I surely agreed with you and the holes aren't limited to the roster.

True dat.

Ever wonder if our lousy defensive back situation plays into our lousy receiver situation and vice- versa? In practice when they go up against each other their lousiness evens out and it looks like two competent units as opposed to the reality of two shitty ones.

Bryant has made a pretty strong case for himself the past 2 weeks. The Steelers may be fine at WR after all.

Not only Bryant, but Wheaton looked fine out there too. He's getting it, and with a little more polish he'll be just fine as our WR3 who occasionally does something quite exciting. People are up and down on him, but you have to realize, if such a young player is giving you ups at all, there's cause for patience and optimism.

Bryant is a whole other level though. Even if throughout his career he occasionally drops one he shouldn't, you can't ignore the way he changed what defenses have to account for. 31 football teams are going to be kicking themselves for passing on the kid.

the most reassuring thing about some of his plays the past 2 weeks is the fact that they arent fluky looking plays. lets see if he can keep it up. he did drop a routine pass on a slant route. kid could have had himself a 100 yard game if he caught that and ran. in only his 2nd NFL game. wow.

Say what you will about Colbert and Company, but they sure can draft wideouts.

Wallace, Brown, Sanders, Wheaton, Bryant. Whiffed on Sweed, but still. That's not a bad track record.

Now if they could somehow figure out defensive backs...
