The Heinz Field scoreboard turns red when the Steelers offense cracks the opponent’s 20, some kind of symbolism for a red-faced group that ranks tied for next-to-last in the NFL in those scoring opportunities.

Their status improved, though. They no longer are No. 31 in the league, they are tied for No. 30 with the New York Jets, each scoring touchdowns just 40.9 percent of the time they make it into the red zone.

Lance Moore was supposed to help the Steelers in the red-zone offense when they signed him after he spent nine seasons with the New Orleans Saints, showing an affinity for catching touchdown passes once inside the 20.

He caught his second scoring pass in two games and his first inside the 20 with the Steelers Monday night, so maybe he is finally getting a chance to show the way...........
