The Cleveland Browns offense was supposed to be crippled when All-Pro receiver Josh Gordon was suspended until Week 12 after violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Gordon's absence, not to mention a quarterback battle between incumbent Brian Hoyer and rookie first-round pick Johnny Manziel, left the passing game in peril. The preseason exposed a receiving corps that ran ragged routes and dropped passes with regularity. Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan had only one reliable pass catcher, Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron.

With an ailing Cameron struggling to find his legs, things appeared to go from bad to worse for a team that bypassed high-profile receivers in the NFL Draft...................
