Receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell are having Pro Bowl-caliber seasons and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is on pace to throw for more yards than he has in his 11-year career. The Steelers are fourth in the NFL in total offense and average 404 yards per game.

Perhaps Brown, Bell and Roethlisberger will maintain their torrid starts for the remainder of the season and the Steelers will remain one of the top five offenses in the league, but it’s worth noting they have had the good fortune of playing some of the worst defensive teams in the league in the early going.

For the third consecutive week and for the fourth time in the first six games, the Steelers are playing one of the three worst defenses in the league.............

In other breaking news, water is wet.

I heard a rumor that the Steelers petitioned the league to play the Seahawks defense or the 1985 Bears D each week so that any of their achievements on offense would be viewed as legit or perhaps even elite. Goodell has yet to issue a formal ruling, but he did fine James Harrison as a result. The amount is undisclosed at this point.

Additionally, since the NFL has been using almost the same formula for having the previous season's record influence the strength of schedule for each team's upcoming season, there was no way to predict this. No wonder no on reads the damn newspaper anymore.

Yet the Patriots wind up with soft schedules and beat up on largely shitty opponents year after year after year and the sports media blows them nonstop. Was there supposed to be a point to this article?

Or Peyton Manning beating up on the AFC south for the majority of his career. It's the NFL, everyone's on scholarship. All wins and all stats go in the same column at the end of the year.

Funny thing, when we were playing some of the best defenses in the league and scoring barely 20 points, it didn't matter what defense we played, the team should score more points. So, now that the situation is reverse, why does it all of a sudden matter?

Answer: because it's always easier to bitch about something.
