When the Steelers brought defensive end Brett Keisel back near the end of training camp, they thought he would be a role player who would get 20 snaps per game. He is averaging 41 snaps after three games.

Will the Steelers follow a similar plan with James Harrison, who, like Keisel, did not participate in training camp?

Much has been made about Harrison’s level of aerobic conditioning, but defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau sounded like a man who had a plan for Harrison starting Sunday against the Buccaneers.

“I don’t think Mike [Tomlin] brought him back to not dress him,” LeBeau said. “I’ve been pleased with what I’ve seen. I knew he’d be lifting. I think his aerobic conditioning is not bad. We’ll have to keep our eye on him, but it’s been good seeing him out there.”.........

He might not be ready to play 3 downs every series, but he will get on the field.

Anybody that says James has no sense of humor, just isn't looking for it. I've missed him.

Harrison, who was heavily fined after Goodell made player safety one of his top priorities in 2010, took several shots at the embattled commissioner on social media a couple of weeks ago. Harrison held back on Wednesday when asked about Goodell and the criticism he has received after admittedly botching the Ray Rice discipline domestic assault case.

"I have no thoughts," Harrison said. "I'm blank right now."

How much Harrison sees the field likely depends on Moats. If Moats does his job and gets a push in the pass game and holds the point of attack in the run game, then Harrison likely plays very little. If Moats does not do well at OLB, then Harrison gets pressed into service.

I agree with this. I don't think we'll see too much of Deebo this week unless there is an injury or Moats turns into Alonzo Jackson

trust me I love Moats was one of the few happy with the signing ( my only displeasure was it was for 1 year )

but even so I still see Harrison getting 15-20 snaps

remember neither of them have played 60 min of football in quite some time they will need to spell one another .... I think its a combo that can do more than " just work " I think they can feed off one another staying fresh and competing
